Review: Body Boss Day 1

Disclosure:  I purchased this book/program with my own money and am not receiving any compensation for this review.

Happy first day of Spring to you!  I hope wherever you are the weather is nice and “spring-like”.  It certainly is here and I am thoroughly enjoying it.

I recently ordered the Body Boss Method workout book.  As a warning/complaint, the company states it will take 5-10 business days to ship your book if you order the paper copy.  They took longer than 10 business days to ship.  I emailed them and spoke with them on live chat voicing my concern that my item had not been shipped.  The company was overwhelmed with the demand for their product.  Which, good for them!  That is awesome, but they could likely have handled it better with the customers who ordered and were delayed by sending out an email to let everyone know.  Hopefully they will put some new measures in place to help with demand and organization.  I allowed a few more days as requested and they shipped the book.  Once the book shipped, it did arrive very quickly.  I was to receive a free hat with my order.  It was not included in the package, so I had to contact them again.  Still waiting to see how that turns out.  (I will let you know by adding an update to the bottom of this writing when I have one.) So if you decide to order a paper copy be forewarned that it may take longer than expected to get to you, but they will get it shipped.  The ebook is accessible immediately, but I wanted a paper copy.  It is better suited for my lifestyle.


I decided to start the program this morning.  Actually I started the four week pre-training program.

I am out of shape.

It was rough on me.

It gave that #ImDyingHere feeling.

This made me happy.

I have looked all through the book and knowing what today felt like, I am very much looking forward to seeing how I am feeling in several weeks.  Today was a seven minute/seven exercise circuit, three minute rest and repeat the circuit again.

The nice thing about the book is all of the different exercises that are included within it. They are well explained, with pictures.  Even after running the course of their program, you can easily put your own HIIT circuit together.

I plan to post another progress report/review in several weeks, hopefully that goes well.  In the meantime, here is to hanging in there and kicking my own butt!

What are some of your favorite ways to exercise or specific exercise moves?

*Update – I contacted customer service about the hat that I did not receive on a Friday, 3/17/17, and I received an update with a tracking number for it bright and early this morning, 3/24/17.  So they are making good on it also.    I am still enjoying the fitness program.  You can put together your own HIIT circuit together for less or free, BUT I felt pretty clueless about where to start so I feel like this book really gave me a jumpstart on it.  I am glad I made the purchase.

    1. Let me start by saying this, I am 5’7″ and I weigh 195 and would like to lose about 35-40 pounds. SO I have a long way to go with any exercise to get where I want to be. I am also not very good at dieting. I enjoy food. lol

      I put my workout regime on hold for the summer as we get really busy, so while I made it through the pre-training, I did not make it all the way through the regular program. I will be starting over again when the school year resumes.

      Having made it through the pre-training and part of the “regular” program, I have to say that I believe the Body Boss Method is a great workout. I started with the pre-training, which is made up of two seven minute training intervals. It took me 13 minutes to get through and I had to take 30 seconds rest intervals that were not in the program. I was really out of shape. By the end of the 4th week of pre-training, I was doing the intervals in 8 minutes with no extra rest periods. That alone felt like a big accomplishment to me knowing how I felt when I started.

      There are a few people at my gym who do their own variety of interval training in the mornings and one of the women, who seems to be in way better shape than me has commented that the Body Boss Method looks hard.

      My firm belief is that if you diet properly and stick to the work out you will see results. I know I felt so much better from when I started until I put things on hold. I look forward to starting back up again when the school year resumes and seeing how far I can get this year.
